Where to park @ Port Everglades???

We'll be driving to Ft. Lauderdale the day before the ship embarks and want to minimize the hassel with parking both leaving and returning.

After reading posts about parking hassels due to ships docking at different piers than they originally left from I am interested in a possible option.

Stay overnight at a nearby hotel, park my car either at the hotel (with permission and paying of course) or park at a Park-n-Cruise lot if one exists.

I'll walk if necessary, not a big deal just trying to make everything as smooth as possible.

Does this possibility exist?

Can someone recommend hotels (inexpensive) nearby the port?

If you are looking for a hotel close to the pier the least expensive one that comes to mind is Amerisuites. We stayed there two weeks ago and it was in better shape then I remembered it, nothing fancy mind you, but good enough for an overnite stay. And last I checked if you stayed the night prior, they offered free parking and they also have a shuttle to the pier.

If you can find it on priceline or hotwire at the right time of year it is very resonable. If all else fails, try valuetrips.com for the best rates lower than their home page.

Happy Cruising!

One word of advice - don't try Priceline for the Amerisuites. I did and got "upgraded" to the Marriott Marina. Super hotel for the money but now we are going to go over there and use the pool , hang out and stay at the Amerisuites for the free parking. Live and learn. (I didn't realize that Priceline could and would upgrade).

If you're driving and don't want to stay overnight, try autorent.com. When you get to their site hit "valet Parking". They're charging $6.00/day, as oppposed to $12/Day for pier parking. They will transport you to/from the pier.

Hi Arlene, We are going on CP this Sat. 4/24 and saw your post reicon_razz.gifarking. Have you used this company to park and if so how was the shuttle taking you to and picking you up from port? I will either use the company you mentioned or Park N Fly. I see you are in Boynton. We are in West Palm so not too far. Thanks for your help. Judy/West Palm

We parked at the pier and it was easy and quick. We drove in dropped off our luggaage to a porter, my husband parked the car and that was it. When the cruise ended we grabbed our luggage and a porter took it to the curb and my husband went and got the car and in minutes we were on our way while everyone else was still waiting for a shuttle. Since we had to drive back up to Michigan we wanted out fast and we were. Would do it again even though it was $12 a day. The convience was well worth it.
