MaiTaiMary Posted November 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Can I just e-mail Carnival and they will adjust it? We haven't made final payment yet so I don't know why we wouldn't be able to get the new rate. Can I e-mail them or do I need to call? Thanks. :)

wantocruisemore Posted November 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2015 In past I have called, more immediate and ask for email verification.
cruzeluver Posted November 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Call. By the time they get around to reading the email the lower rate may no longer be available.
ready2cruzagain Posted November 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Definitely call, it only takes a couple of minutes. That email might not get read till next week.
CruzVinnieCruz Posted November 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Did you book directly with Carnival? If not you will need to call whoever you booked through. Take care, Vinnie
jandb6266 Posted November 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I do not want to sound rude but I do not understand. I notice you have been a CC member since 2009. The first thing you should have done is call your PVP or TA how ever you booked before the price goes back up. I book early saver and as soon as I see a drop in price I am filling out the price protection claim form and hitting submit. I have only missed one price drop and it will never happen again. The time it takes to type a letter to CC you could be submitting the claim form and getting the price drop. HAPPY SAILING!!!

The price of my cruise went down and I was asking what the best/easiest way would be to get the price adjusted. Suggestions were made to phone Carnival, so I took their advice and called. Not sure what you are confused about.
jandb6266 Posted November 14, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I was not confused, I was surprised that you have been on at least 4 or five cruises that you have listed. In my first four cruises I had price drops on every one and submitted a claim forms several times on each cruise for price drops. I was surprised that you have never received a price drop on any of your cruises. I check for price drops five to six times daily. My cruise to Mexico on the Dream I saved 456.00 from what I originally booked at. It pays to check often. HAPPY SAILING!!!
taymiss2 Posted November 14, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I have never had a price drop on any of my cruises. Just saying. I probably wouldn't have known what to do either. Maybe I just seem to cruise at spring break and the price never goes down for that peak time or I am just cursed? lol.

When you said "I don't understand", that implied confusion. ;) My last two cruises just went up in price. I believe I had a price drop on a cruise I went on 5 1/2 years ago. I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning, much less how in the world I contacted Carnival in 2010 and had my fare adjusted. My cruise from 15 years ago is pretty much just a blur at this time. Things change so rapidly in the cruise industry that even if I had remembered what I did, I wanted advice on what the easiest way was to go about doing it these days. I got the advice I needed and took care of it. No idea what this "price protection claim form is" and really don't have a need for it. The phone call was all I needed. springs741 Posted November 14, 2015 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I have never had a price drop on any ...... Maybe I just seem to cruise at spring break and the price never goes down for that peak time or I am just cursed? lol. DD and SIL are booked on the Triumph for March 12th, Spring Break Cruise. The price went down $100 right after they booked. Of course it is now $250 more then the lowest price. Point is they occasionally drop.
jandb6266 Posted November 14, 2015 #15 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I am going on the Pride on June 26, 2016 and I booked this cruise on March 27, 2015. Since I booked this cruise the price has went up 120.00. I booked early saver and I check all the time and one day they had a 12 hour sale and I saved 80.00. I am ahead already even when the price is higher. As the sail date gets closer I expect to get more price drops. I filled out the price protection claim form at 11:30 PM. 1/2 HR before the sail ended. You can't call carnival at 11:30 PM and talk to anyone that could give you the lower fair. If I would have waited until the next morning to call I would have missed the sale. HAPPY SAILING!!!
gremlinbangles Posted November 14, 2015 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I never get price drops. I guess it depends on the category of room whether or not the prices go down. You have to look at the prices every day. They sometimes change twice a day or stay the same for weeks. It's crazy. jandb6266 Posted November 14, 2015 #17 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I agree with gremlinbangles about checking all the time. I guess I am lucky that I am retired and have the time to check. I have seen the price drop then go back up four times in one day. When it goes back up sometimes it is higher than when it went down. It depends on how many people book at any given day. I have booked a balcony and got price drops and I have also booked an ocean suite and got price drops. If they want to sell out a certain category they will juggle the prices around to create interest in that category. I don't think we will ever figure out their logic, so we just have to check daily. Congrats for getting your price drop! HAPPY SAILING!!!

Papa_Bear_ Posted November 14, 2015 #19 Share Posted November 14, 2015 FYI we have had the PVP match prices from Price Line and other sites with just a phone call and then e-mailing the other sites offer. So we watch several sites other than just Carnivals'.
jandb6266 Posted November 14, 2015 #20 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Correct me if I am wrong. PaPa Bear stated that they have price line check numerous sites for prices and then email them somewhere. When you book early saver it states that you will get the lower price on carnivals web site only. I found a lower price once on BJ'S web site and carnival would not honor it because it was not their sale. HAPPY SAILING!!!
Papa_Bear_ Posted November 14, 2015 #21 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Sorry we were not early saver just booked as a past guest. But our PVP said they would match lowest advertised price as long as we provided proof. Sorry if I didn't read the first post close enough. jandb6266 Posted November 14, 2015 #22 Share Posted November 14, 2015 No need to be sorry PaPa Bear. If we do not ask questions and get new answers we never learn anything. I must say I have learned a lot by reading CC. And I found that if I learn something new at least once a day than it is a great day. HAPPY SAILING!!!
