I think the list is a good idea. Friends who have gone on cruises have asked me a million questions about what to pay for and expect. If you try to gather all info for so many different people you will end up leaving something off or give info that may not apply etc. Why put that stress on yourself? Give them the website and let them go at it, problem of list solved, carnival already did the list for you for each category! I have searched for some fees on the carnival site and still cannot find them, so I am not sure this is true. For example, fees for the bear workshop. I wish they would just post a list of everything and it's extra cost. But, I guess that could get quite long and then people would talk about the nickel and diming! Our "Cruise" pricing already includes our travel costs, cruise, port fees/taxes and gratuity. Many have not cruised before, so they have asked for this info to help them plan extra money needed. Yes, I know they could just look at the website for some stuff. Nothing to defend yourself for. There are some hotels in the Galveston area that include a parking fee in their price--might can save money there. If anyone is a disabled veteran, they can park for free in Galveston. My daughter and her friend did their first cruise last year and the "most" forgotten thing to check on was their cell phone plan! My daughter listened to me and had her phone on the "airplane mode" and no cell data mode. Her friend insisted that she was ok. By the second day she received a text that her data had gone over and was 100.00 !! It ruined their cruise. Make sure everybody checks with their cell phone carrier to see how their plan works or if they need a international plan or purchase internet on the ship. . There is so much to take in and get done the first day of the first cruise, a list like this is a wonderful idea. On the room service menu they now include some hot items for a small fee, don't know if they're worth it but they are there. You could always carry food back to your cabin from the buffet, for free. If flying, suggest cost of hotel to fly in the night before and transfers/to and from and or hotel (one way car rental is usually best in many ports). The biggest extra expense we overlook in our planning is the Kennel for our dogs. Also seems like regardless if we fly or drive, there's always one more nice sit-down restaurant meal at the airport or on the road on the trip home. I just did a 5 day cruise over Christmas and it was $260 to board my dog for 6 days. It is something I often overlook until after I've paid for the cruise. That said, I've heard these are being replaced by pitchers of white milk for cereal The thought of a whole pitcher of milk out where anyone could add anything to it or anything could fall in it grosses me OUT! Some ppl dont like to gather info, Cannot believe ppl getting grouchy just cause you posted this.. DUH, I helped out my friends and Family last year on a cruise and planned everything, they were so grateful! Haters are everywhere, they like to complain on anything and everything.
