crisp1 Posted December 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2015 We usually go to Club O, but I have read that happy Bay is an alternative. We'll have a car. The map shows a road that leads to Happy Bay. Does anyone know if there is parking at Happy Bay, and how long of a walk from the parking area Thanks

Does anyone know if there is parking at Happy Bay, and how long of a walk from the parking areaThanks Happy Bay is an unofficial nude beach so not the same as the c/o section of Orient where nudity is permitted. The easiest way to get there is to go to Friars Bay and park there and follow the sign to the path leading to Happy Bay. The hike is about 15 minutes. When I was there someone rented chairs and had food for sale but there was no restrooms.
stag Posted January 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2016 The road to Happy Bay is a private road and is very rough. If the gate is locked, you will have difficult time to get the car back to public road.

We take the road to Friars Bay which is in better shape then it was 5 yrs ago and park in the lot and hike the trail. There is a small gate that has been open during our visits and it would be easy to climb.
stag Posted January 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2016 What road is that? The road that crisp1 asked. If you drive from Marigot, passed Friars Bay, at the bend to Grand Case, there is indeed a dirt road to Happy Bay. The dirt road is narrow, passable by one car, and has a PRIVATE sign at the gate. Most people park at Friars and hike up the hill to Happy Bay. Be careful if you drive a rental car because there would be many eyes following you. Once you disappear after the hill, they know you may not come back for a while.

I have never had an issue parking there whether when going on to happy Bay or staying at Friars.

Agree, though, we try not to drive on private roads, especially if there's a gate that could be locked. We've never had a problem at Friar's, but have to admit there are sometimes a lot of 'sketchy' folks around there. gary
