The_0neuk Posted December 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Looking to book a cruise for april/may time Undecided between a 7 night cruise on the new ovation of the seas from Southampton to Barcelona or a 13 night transatlantic on independence of the seas from florida to Southampton Both work out approx same cost Edited December 7, 2015 by The_0neuk
Clarea Posted December 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2015 Those are completely different cruises, really not comparable. You have to ask yourself, do you want the port intensive Med cruise, or the relaxing sea days of the transatlantic.
tomatosauce Posted December 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2015 I would throw into the mix... Do you want to go on a brand new ship that was only launched about a month earlier?

Clarea Posted December 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 7, 2015 Do new ships tends to have "teething problems" is it better to wait until new ships have been around for a while? Ovation will be the third Quantum class ship, so I would expect it to have fewer problems than the preceeding ships in the class.
OfTheSeasCruiser Posted December 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 7, 2015 Independence would be my choice, no doubt. Longer cruise always wins out, IMO. The Quantum class ships will be around for a long time - maybe consider one of them for another cruise. The new ship would not persuade me to choose that much shorter of a cruise, plus the fact that there could be problems.
