jnojr Posted December 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2015 Looking for a hotel in San Juan for the night before our cruise. I did some poking around, and of course every place gets it's minuses as well as it's pluses :-) I like the idea of staying in Old San Juan, but it seems that many hotels there get comments about being noisy. We'd like a place that's quiet and has a pool / hot tub. We'll probably want to eat and sight-see in and around OSJ for a while, and it would be nice to stay right there, but I'd be OK with using a cab to get there and back and then to the pier the next day. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated!
DaytonCruiser Posted December 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2015 Lots of options, but it helps to know your budget.
jnojr Posted December 15, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted December 15, 2015 Lots of options, but it helps to know your budget. That isn't as important. Let's say $250 max. It would be nice to stay under that, but I'd far rather not deal with mold, dirt, noise, crappy service, etc.
princesstiffany Posted December 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2015 I liked the Embassy Suites in Old San Juan. The front room can be a little noisy, but the back room that is the bedroom stays pretty quiet. You will have to use a taxi to get to the airport/ terminal/ etc.

Mr2Scents Posted December 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2015 We stayed at the Sheraton OSJ right across the street from the port. 4 minute walk to the ship. It was a good choice for us. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Brickwood Posted December 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2015 We just spent our pre-cruise night at Sheraton Old San Juan. Some are disappointed that there is not casino anymore but that's not for us anyhow. Didn't notice any noise from our room. They have a small roof top pool that we didn't use. We walked up to San Cristobel in the afternoon and then had dinner and some of the night scene on Friday night. Left our luggage with the hotel in the morning and then walked to El Morro, around more of OSJ, had lunch, then picked up our luggage and took a taxi to the port (Pan American port). Didn't want to fuss with finding a breakfast spot so did the brunch at the hotel - typical hotel fare for $20. If you want to walk to all the Old San Juan sites, then this is a great location. Rooms and staff were good too.
