Great Dives in Curacao

Earlier this month I was able to do two dives each on Bonaire, Curacao, and Aruba (in that order). On Bonaire we went with VIP diving, which was relatively expensive ($149) and included 2 shore dives with equipment. The company was fine but the dives were quite boring.

The Dive Bus on Curacao was wonderful. Owners Mark and Suzy are great and entering the water from the beach across the street (from their shop) was easy. Mark was a great tour guide! This was something like $90 using my gear.

S.E. Fly and Dive in Aruba came in second place. 2 boat dives were $94 using my gear. Nice coral and plenty of colorful small fish, but nothing much bigger than an angelfish.

I would love to spend a week in Curacao and go with The Dive Bus everyday!

Dive bus's reef is the same one as be Superclubs Breezes's reef, which offered free guided shore dive everyday, sometimes to the carpile.

For bonaire, they could have taken you to many many places, such as salt pier, klein bonaire or the usual wreck that they dive ops usually take cruise ship divers when they don't have much natural reef to show for. It is a better place to dive than Curacao. This goes to show how doing a couple of dives from a cruise ship doesn't represent how diving on that island really is. If that was the case, I would never go back to St Lucia since my 1st dive was in something like 20 ft visibility (due to the heavy rain the day before), and the 2nd dive was a beach dive with max depth of 15 ft (due to the DM recognizing the 3rd person on our boat (not from my party) being pretty unskilled and making crucial mistakes on the 1st dive). But I've vacationed there before and have dove many sites and know it is much better.
