tncruisergurl Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 What to see, do, and eat? These are both ports we haven't been too before.
dogchopper Posted December 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Barrachina in San Juan. It is the 'birthplace of the Pina Colada' they have a website so you can get directions but it's an easy walk from the ship!
crusinpsychRN Posted December 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Don't do the taste of San Juan. Mofongo was gross. I wanted better food and more history than we got.
Dets_Girl Posted December 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2015 What to see, do, and eat? These are both ports we haven't been too before. San Juan - Brain Freeze Right across the street from the port is Brian Freeze. Good food! The Minipletas, slider type sandwiches, ham, skirt steak & bacon. And the chicken wings - rolled in plantain chips. Medalla light beer - good margaritas. Sit on the corner and watch the world go by - Good service. Enjoy your trip, Edie

welldone60 Posted December 26, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2015 In San Juan we did the Segway tour. It was a lot of fun. They are easy to learn to ride. http://www.segwaytourspr.com/ In St Thomas we just hired an open air taxi in the port for a tour and ended up at Megan's beach. One of the stops on the tour was Mountain Top. http://www.mountaintopvi.com/ Great views
loubetti Posted December 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Barrachina in San Juan. It is the 'birthplace of the Pina Colada' they have a website so you can get directions but it's an easy walk from the ship! The Caribe Hilton hotel will argue that! At this point it is anyone's guess where it was invented.
carolslc Posted December 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I second Barrachina in San Juan - get a pina colada - and also tour at least one of the forts. When in St Thomas we always take the ferry to St John. It's one of my favorite places in the world.
ozarkmama Posted December 29, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Go see the forts, walk the Old city, go to the Parque de las Palomas and feed the pigeons. Go to Puerto Rico Day Trips for free walking tour information. All kinds of info on the site http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/category/oldsanjuan/
