time difference?

There is no time differenct when the US is on Daylight savings time. Barbados is on Atlantic Standard time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time.

So at the moment there is no difference in EDT and AST but when the US "Falls" back (when ever that is these days), there will be an hour difference between Barbados and the US East Coast.

Hope this helps.
