Brief review Conquest, early dec with a 5 year old

I wanted to give my feedback on the Conquest. My husband and I are 44, our daughter is almost 5. We have sailed on carnival 7 times, Royal 2x, and Princess, 1x. We had a wonderful vacation. The staff really were fantastic. What really made us happy was the absolutely fantastic kids club, the staff were just awesome with the kids. My daughter couldn't wait to go back every time we picked her up...she wanted to know when she could return. Me had to make her eat dinner with us 2 nights, she wanted to eat with all her new friends (my daughter is very social and is in full time preschool, so she is very used to a kids group). One night she was basically running to get to dinner, but all of a sudden turned shy when we were signing her in... 2 members of the kids club came right over, hugged her, engaged her, were silly, and off our daughter went without a second thought. They did tons of arts and crafts activities. We were just really impressed. Also loved having a pager, just in case.... Another awesome event onboard for the kids was the Seuss parade.... And the seuss breakfast at sea...worth the $5/person.....just really fun for the kids.

The only thing I wish was onboard was a kids pool area. The water is too deep for our daughter to stand, and she is learning to swim. So one if us was always in the pool....no big deal...just thought I'd point it out.

The casino is very smokey, but was expected. I won $80 on slots. My DH came in 3rd on the blackjack tournament (he won a carnival tshirt). Woohoo."..!

We watched several football games in the EA sports...made friends with the awesome bartender... He was super friendly and knew my husband on a first name basis..... We did sports trivia one night, that was fun.

We went to the has bro game show...FUN.... My husband even got up on stage..

The cruise director is just fantastic, and I think it's the first time I've found a cruise director to make an impression on me.

The food was always cooked the way we asked. Never a problem with any requests. Our servers always greeted us by name and always inquired about our daughter.

We had FTF.... That made a huge difference on embarkation and debarkation, a saving grace with an impatient 5 year old.

Our room temperature was great, sometimes to chilly. Our balcony was small, had 2 chairs. We were midship. Had rough water the second night, I think we had 4 or 6 foot swells...I'm sensitive to motion, and it woke me up from my sleep (thankfully, I don't get seasick, just a little nervouse, I'm the same when hitting turbulence on a plane). No big deal. Our room steward was also fantastic.

We had a great time...relaxing cruise. We had nothing bad to say, and I can be quite picky... It's not a brand new ship, but it's very clean well taken care of, with a variety of activities.....

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Yes I agree . The cruise director has never mattered to us but Eric was fantastic he be the best at whatever he does and we hope we sail with him again . Our cruise was 12-10 and loved the Conquest except for the darn smoke from killcino

We were on the 6 day... We went to key west, grand cayman, and Cozumel. I'm sorry, we did not save the daily activity paper.
I'm getting ready to go on this itinerary in 2 weeks (woo hoo!!!!) and wondering which nights were dress elegant. Would love to hear about the American Table menu. I want to hit up the Steakhouse and looking for which night in the MDR that I can live with skipping.

Thanks for your review, we're doing to the same itinerary on the 17th with our 3 & 7 year old. Glad to hear good things about the kids activities.
