Bringing a bottle of wine.... inside cabin

We always bring 2 bottles (both for me). I usually just carry the darn bottle around with me. But since I'm a classy gal now ... I pour the whole dang bottle in a giant tervis cup and carry that with me

Last march, a friend opened a fancy "twist" top bottle in her room, used her own brought from home glass (cup) and carried both to MDR. They tried to make her pay a corkage fee.... we pitched a fit .... they backed off. That's the first time carnival has ever tried to charge us (me ... her, whatever) a corkage fee.

It's very possible that someone was new and didn't understand they don't charge corkage on a glass of wine (and the main reason for that is because they have no idea whether you poured it in your cabin or bought it at the bar just outside the MDR).
