Where to Boogie Board in HW

I am going to be sailing on the Pride of America on 12/17/05. I would like to go boogie boarding on one of the islands. My wife would like to come with me, neither of us are super strong swimmers so we need week surf and preferably no rip tides.

 

Anyone know of a nice beach where the ground is soft, rents boogie boards, the waves are small and the risk of rip tides is fairly small?

Waikiki Beach is a nice easy beach to boogie board at. Usually, the beachboys in the area (especially off of Kuhio Beach) will have boards to rent. Otherwise, Kaanapali Beach on Maui may not be a bad choice as well.

I'm interested in boogie boarding as well. What about Poipu Beach Park? Can you rent boogie boards there?
