Mahogany Bay is a healthy 45mins from West Bay.

 

Taxi prices are not regulated, Roatan is all about the haggle if one decides to hop a random cab.

 

If ya want a local English speaking driver you can learn about the island from and stop anyplace you please, many of the tour companies offer private drivers, I have seen prices in the $25 per person with four people area.
