Wifi Escape Question

We will be going on our first vacation without the kids in a few weeks (so excited it's going to be on the Escape!) but we want to be able to talk to them to check in every now and then. I've read the wifi is questionable on the Escape but I'm not sure what that means. Will we be able to facetime or use fb messenger at all or is it just too slow?

 

We plan on sending a daily email to check in, but would like to talk to the kids every couple of days if possible. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

I'd get the 250 minute Internet package for $125.00 and facetime, or skype, should be enough for a week's cruise.;)

We have a business and check in with our dogs daily?

 

The main complaints, it can be slow at times -

 

Try to log on early in the mornings or around dinner time

 

Gat a package, insteade of minute-by-minute use

 

Look in your cabin and on the daily for first day specials

We were on the Escape 11/14-11/21. It was our experience that the internet service was past slow even by cruise line standards. My daughter needed to send one simple, but very important business email and wasted 60 minutes of time waiting to connect or having the connection drop. Fortunately we docked in St. Thomas that morning and she was able to send the email from off the ship.

 

Others on the same cruise said it was manageable. So, it's a roll of the dice I guess.
