2 weeks off the NYE cruise on Independence, Any Q's?

Anybody have any questions about NYE cruises on Freedom/Voyager Class? Just got back. We did the 5 night on IOS out of Ft Lauderdale.

 

Ports were Labadee & Falmouth, Jamaica.

 

Pre cruise stayed at Hyatt Pier 66 & after stayed at Marriott Harbor Beach.

1. What time did you start boarding?

2. What is open when you board? I wanted to get some refreshments and find a good spot to people watch.

3. What did you do on Labadee? I reserved an OTW cabana for 6 of us, hoping we are able to go in.

4. What did you do in Jamaica?

5. Do you have copies of the MDR menus for the week?

6. Do you have copies of the Cruise Compass?

7. Did you enjoy yourself?

8. Did you play Quest? I hear that game is a blast!

9. What cabin were you in? Looks large...was it a suite or just a balcony cabin?

One more thing...did you get a drink package? Did you by chance notice the prices for individual drinks (beer)? I am really debating as I am not a huge drinker, but I have also heard the drink prices are through the roof now.

Beers are in the $6 to $8 range.

How was debarking? That seems to have been an issue on Indy the last two months. Did you do valet or self-debarking? How long did it take and was it crazy?

 

I'm boarding for the same itinerary in 9 days! :cool:

Thanks Bob! That helps a lot! I got the Royal Refreshment package. No sense going up to the alcohol one as I won't drink every day, nor will I drink 6 beers a day. I really like the non-alch frozen stuff. mmmmm

1: We boarded ASAP. around 11am, I wanted to make sure I got a cabana because it told me I could not do so online.

 

2: I'm pretty sure Cafe Promenade is open. Great spot to people watch. Windjammer is for sure.

 

3: Cabana at Labadee OTW.

 

4: Dunn River Falls & Reggae Hill. Great excursion.

 

5 & 6: No I do not :(

 

7: Yes very much so.

 

8: No, never have.

I did get the Royal Replenish package, which covers all non alcohol. Dont drink much and the Diamond Happy Hour more the covers it.

Self parked and disembarkation was cake. We left asap off the ship.

No.

 

Nor will there be for a while, apparently. I e-mail Royal a week or two ago and asked if there will be one on the Indy by the time of my sailing this November, and the reply indicated there won't be. (But they also informed me that buying a beverage package would allow me soda from the bars. Good upsell...)

Yes. It wasn't expensive at all either :) I recall, Vanilla, Strawberry, Chunky Monkey, Cherry Garcia, that's all I can remember. They make great shakes too!
