Private Shuttle From Dover to Heathrow

We are arriving on the Disney Magic at Dover on May 29 and are considering a car service from the port to Heathrow using either Airport Express or Coastal Cars airport services. Has anyone used them? How does the pickup work at the port? How do you locate the driver?

A private hire car, big enough for you and your luggage, will cost around £135. I would suggest using a Dover based service as they will have no problems meeting the ship. You are travelling on a Sunday, so the M25 will be reasonably clear. Even so, you should allow a minimum two hours from pick-up to set-down.

 

They will be at the Cruise terminal at the agreed time with a placard.

It may be worth looking for someone to share, as this will cut the cost considerably.

I don't know Coastal Cars - their depot is at Herne Bay, which is half an hour from Dover, but they might have drivers based closer.

AirportExpress are based at Heathrow, & London or airport-based services are usually more expensive than those at provincial ports like Dover.

I reckon Bob's £135 or a little less is about on-the-money.

One other minor point that sometimes comes up: Tips.

 

For a journey like this £10 would be the maximum and the tip should reflect the service.

We are too are looking for transport from Dover except to Gatwick. We will be on the Magic TA as well but staying on for the Norway cruise following so our transport date is 6/5. Will check out the links provided :-) Thank you very much!

That's a shorter trip so around £115. Around 1½ hors on a Sunday but add an hour on any other day to be safe.
