legalslave Posted January 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2016 We'll be flying in to YVR and staying near Canada Place at Delta Suites. The address is 550 West Hastings. We will be arriving in the early afternoon. There are 5 adults with rolling luggage. Would the Waterfront station be the closest Skytrain station to Delta Suites and if it is, how far of a walk would it be? There are too many of us with luggage to take just one mini van taxi. It would require 2 taxis plus tip. We are looking at the Skytrain as an option. Diane
Urban trekker Posted January 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2016 It is a little over a block from Waterfront Station to your hotel but that block has a fairly steep incline. As you have rolling luggage it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps and some of the other locals will likely be along with their view of this. Cheers! Rare martincath Posted January 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2016 No disagreement with UT here - except I'd note that 'steep' is relative to local streets and Vancouver is pretty flat. If you can handle rolling a bag up or down typical access ramps at hotels, airports etc you won't find it troublesome - and if you're familiar with Seattle you'll probably mock our puny slopes... if this link to Google Streetview works, it should be pointing up Seymour from just outside Waterfront; turn left at the top of the block and you're basically right outside the hotel. Cruisen Elf Posted January 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2016 We stayed at the Delta Suites in 2012, and were able to take the Sky Train from the airport to the hotel (which is very nice - you made a great choice!) with our luggage. I don't remember which stop we got off at, but I do remember calling the hotel for that information and they were very helpful. Another thing to know is that you want to go around to the hotel's main entrance on the side or back of the hotel with your luggage. The entrance on Hastings Street has stairs when you enter the hotel. The main entrance around the right side (as you face the hotel on Hastings Street) is flat and much easier to navigate with luggage. We made the mistake of entering on Hastings Street and had to lug our luggage up a steep flight of steps.
