Infants in swimming pool

There were definitely signs, albeit laminated temporary signs, posted at the pools on the Golden Princess 4/10 sailing. It seemed that most parents abided by them. However, there was an incident on our cruise that closed the Neptune Pool for 2 days (I posted about it earlier). I guess it must vary by ship whether there are postings. We did have incidents of norwalk virus on board during our cruise so perhaps that is why the signs were posted.

Well, if they decide that the rules don't apply to them, I will have no problem pointing them out to a staff member!

The gentleman I spoke with was very nice. He came back on the line and said that he had searched far and wide and indeed could not find this rule posted anywhere officially online or in print.

I told him that I had the CDC report for the Grand from January in front of me, and I found it very puzzling that even after the CDC wrote them up for not having signs, Princess still seemed to not be taking it very seriously. He said he was passing my concern along to senior management, and they would see about getting the rule posted where it should be posted.

And just for the record, I am very much not part of the "anti-kid" bunch... heck, I wouldn't always sail Disney if I was. But even when my now-8 year old was a toddler, it would *never* have occured to me to let him swim in swim-diapers... it just seemed like common sense and courtesy to other people. *shrug*

They should at least give a Princess tote bag or something to the winner LOL

I say if it's a problem, just like Gina, just contact the ship's safety officer, bring up the CDC, and watch them scramble LOL

You know I've been thinking ...since babies and children pay full price and therefore are "entitled to all the amenities" onboard the ship why don't we give them cigars, liquor them up and send them down to the casino to gamble too? Nah, Sue, that's just a bad idea. First thing you know, one of the little tykes will take out too many markers, then there will be a terrible row at the purser's desk because the parents will refuse to make good, and besides, they told their kid to stay out of the casino in the first place and no way would he go in there because he's the perfect-est little darling in the world so somebody must have taken his cruise card and used it to gamble then given it back so therefore it's all Princess' fault anyway that he's in debt.

Completed:
Sea Princess, Royal Princess, Grand Princess (3X), Caribbean Princess, Golden Princess
Coming up:
Tahitian Princess Oct 14/04
Caribbean Princess redux 6/25/05

Well Spongerob... I guess you are right!Tykes in the casino probably wouldn't work out anyway! They'd have to put all the slots and tables closer to the floor to accomodate them.
As a concession ..How about a "Bar Card" for liquor rather that a "soda card"? Hehehe Cindy

Yup they would have to put them closer to the floor but then they could use pottys for the little tykes for seats. They wouldn't have to get up to pee or poop, just have their darling attentive Mama's there to wipe their little tukas. Hey, I'm all for a bar card for them too, just put one of those drink holders on the side - the little darlin's will be busy for hours while Mom and Dad enjoy a stress free, diaper enhanced free pool.
Just stay away from my adult pool and that goes for you too you rotten little hormon raging teenage cannonballers. This thread too funny to put to rest!

Just for the record, Princess does have in print that children in diapers are not allowed in pools.

From Princess Patter last November:

SWIMMING POOLS
...
5. Children in diapers are not permitted in the swimming poos (oops sorry) pools and whirlpool spas.

OK? 'nuff said!
