Anniversaryfortwo Posted January 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I would also like to hear from anyone who has done this excursion. We have it booked for our December cruise because we liked what it showed on RCCL site, but would love an unbiased review. Aundrea
do_not_spindle Posted November 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2017 (At risk of re-opening an old thread) Several people we met went on it (I think it was the Mercedes) in December 2016 (Grandeur of the Seas, 12-day pre-Christmas sailing). They enjoyed it, said it was fast enough to be exciting and large enough to be comfortable. Also you don't have to work the rigging like on the Amer Cup boats. In contrast, we had booked the Americas Cup Experience; it was cancelled because they are not licensed to take cruise passengers when winds are above <guess> 20kts (or 25 mph?) <guess>. I checked this morning (11/28/17) and Americas Cup is closed for repairs from hurricane damage until at least Jan 2018. Mercedes may be operating - their web site says yes, but they are not on the shore excursions page. I've emailed RCCL's shore excursions to find out.
