JackieKav Posted January 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) We are going on the Breakaway end of Feb and meeting up with some other family members. What is the best spot to meet up at when we get on board that we can grab some food and drinks but not crazy busy? Demonyte Posted January 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Almost everywhere will be crazy busy as many people do not have any idea where they are going. Our embarkation routine is to to go to MDR for lunch, at least on Getaway this month the bar between Savor and Taste was open too, there is not too much space to sit except the bar but that would probably be my choice for meetup point if everybody were planning to board around the same time. MDR(s) are open only 1,5-2 hours from noon so after that only options for food are O'Sheehan's on deck 7, buffet on deck 15 and the grill on deck 16. Lexuswilly Posted January 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) Going on my 3rd Breakaway cruise end of February also. If weather is good, we always go up top. Garden cafe is running and there's always seating somewhere. Vibe club is the best place but you have to buy passes for the week. Sail away party is always fun. Especially with NYC in the background. Have fun. Edited January 24, 2016 by Lexuswilly

Dave85 Posted January 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Really depends what you're looking for. If you're willing to spend the time having a sit down meal then the MDR is a great option on embarkation day to avoid some of the chaos at the other venues. If you're looking for something quicker then the buffet is probably the way to go.
Valen9 Posted January 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) We usually arrive before 11am, which is before boarding starts. Once we board, we go straight to the MDR, which is calm and quiet. Edited January 24, 2016 by Valen9
meatball_nyc Posted January 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Last time we went to Moderno's (deck 8, starboard side, aft) for lunch. Small buffet, nice tables with table cloths. Quiet and comfortable. Good beverage selection. I doubt the Uptown Grill will be open on embarkation day at the end of February (it wasn't this past November). Have a great cruise! ctinct Posted January 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2016 It was chilly, but Uptown was open December 27 when we boarded. However, in the days leading up to then, it had been unusually warm, so maybe they make the decision to open on a case by case basis.
