Just off of Anthem of the Seas 1/15-1/26

Recommended Posts

is it on that same ship and how long of a cruise can you win?

No, you can pick the ship. When I've seen it won, it was for a 7-night Caribbean cruise for 2 in an oceanview. There may also be value limits and blackout dates.

What is cruise bingo? and a table?

it a bingo game with three rounds. First two rounds you get cash if you bingo. The third round is for win a cruise.

The problem i don't like the table setup is because it not good way to get people moving. The table was set up in two different aisles. If you walk down one aisle and waited for people in front of you and taking way to long, the other aisle is empty, and you had to make your way over to that table. They should had the table in the back of the theater with one line so when one crew is done with the client they can get the next person. Believe me i am patient man but sometime if it get way to long it aggravated me. Also make sure you bring a pen, they charged you for the ink bottle.

Win a cruise had a limitation. You have up to one year to book it on any ship. There is a 6 to 8 night offering span. If you want to go longer with that free cruise , you need to pay difference.

Hi - your cabin 13250 what category is that D1 ? Was if far from the elevators ?

I think it was either a D2 or D3. Definitely not a D1. We didn't have a lot of choice when it came to cabins as only booked the week before Thanksgiving. It was SUPER close to the Aft elevators. Very convenient to everything. Once I can figure out how to post photos, I'll try to get some of the balcony up this weekend.

We did not try room service at all. In fact we realized that we never even got to American Icon for breakfast any of the days. First morning I think we grabbed a bite at Two70 and all other mornings we were at the Windjammer for breakfast before Morning Trivia :)

Ifly tip separate your time if you plan to film or take picture. There is no camera allow inside the tunnel area even if you are sitting down waiting for your turn.

Thanks for the tip on the Ifly. We currently have 8 booked for 12pm, so I will reschedule us into 2 groups of 4. I see that booking times are increments of 20 minutes apart. My question is if I book the 2nd group at 12:20pm will that allow them time to take the photos and videos of the first group or should I book them at 12:40pm? I'm not sure how they rotate everyone into the tunnel area where cameras aren't allowed.

My suggestion is 1240. Here why. When i was waiting for my dad to do the ifly, since i got denied because of injury few months ago. There a group doing the ifly, then a group waiting for their turn to get into the tunnel and third one watching the video and getting suited up. This way you have time to transverse and get into position to film.

Just wondering when you boarded was there a sit down restaurant open for lunch or did you have to go to the buffet and where is the buffet,I couldn't find it on the picture site. Thanks

Windjammer is buffet on deck 14. if you like the crowd.

Solarium Bistro deck 14 forward is a buffet that is so peaceful

two70 is open on deck 5 aft, but i am sure how peaceful peaceful then windjammer on embarkation day. When you are at sea and port, it so peaceful

No sit down restaurant open during embarkation time. Only dinner.

I heard from someone said Jamie Oliver is open for lunch on embarkation day but i think there is surcharge since this is a specialty .

My answers in red below (I was on the 12 day January 3-15)

Oh and anything I should do immediately upon boarding? (Like booking iFly and puzzle room and everything)? Go right up to the Seaplex and book the puzzle room. If No one is at the desk, ask one of the staff around the sports court. Then you can ask them where to book iFly (we booked online so I don't know)Running to eat (I'm thinking either 270 or solarium)? Would that be a good time to actually try to get ON iFly since nobody would have reservations yet? IF they are running it, yes.I'm worried about injuring myself and being sore for the rest of the cruise! Hahaha! Did anyone have any issues after? Not really an injury-prone activity. My back was a bit sore from arching it so tight, but that didn't last long at all. I'm not in shape but not a frail disaster either - I have done boogie boarding on the flowrider and was pretty banged up the next day from the legs scraping on the bottom but otherwise no worse for wear. NOTHING like that on iFly.

Any sailaway experience in the solarium? I'm considering taking my swimsuit and cover-up in my carry on when I board, and making use of the fact the muster drill is before 3 with sailaway AT 3! I'm not normally a hot tub person but either the hot tubs or solarium pools look like a great place to kick off the cruise and get into vacation mode while still having a view? I've froze coming in and out of Bayonne enough so no interest in freezing out on deck again this time! :)We did sailaway in the Solarium and it was really nice. I will warn you that the hot tubs are really just warm tubs. I've taken baths warmer than that!

I'm not sure how they rotate everyone into the tunnel area where cameras aren't allowed. You might even want to consider 1:00. I think from start to finish we were about an hour. So your first group might not finish in time to photograph the second group, or your second group might be called before the first one is ready to be photographed.

Yes I see it was a D2 - going to booking a trip as soon as the 2017 dates come out. I think 13250 will work for us. Did you try room service at all ?

I was also on Anthem for the 1/15-1/26 sailing. We tried room service for breakfast and lunch. The menu for both is very different than on other ships. The up charge is for almost anything warm.

Breakfast offers pancakes and eggs for an up charge. Basically cold cereal, oatmeal, pastries and a fruit bowl without charge. The fruit bowl is VERY different than the fruit plate available on other ships. Think more fruit cocktail with bits of watermelon than something fresh cut. We ordered breakfast, including the fruit bowl, about 5 times.

Non breakfast offers a burger and a pepperoni pizza for a charge ($4.95). We didn't try either. Without charge, a vegetable wrap, Italian wrap, fries, Mac and cheese, and a cheese pizza are available. Cookies, cheesecake and tea/water are also available. There's definitely no cheese plate, which I was unhappy to discover.

We tried American Icon for breakfast one morning. It was basically the MDR breakfast menu, but bagels and lox were also offered. We were seated in Silk (they open overflow seating there for breakfast and lunch) and found the service quite slow.

Updated to share my disappointment about the cheese plate.

Ifly, north star should be reserved thru your cruise planner. If you can't i heard best place to go is guest service. You can do stand by on north star. When i did that we was on so fast it feel like i was one of the reservationist. Bumper cars should be check in compass. Please note it run for like two hours because it battery operated. Best tip to get there at least twenty minutes prior to start time. If line is short to your liking, go on gain and again.

I was in solarium on embarkation day. the food is good. However my chicken needed to be adjusted. There was a skin on it and it was loaded with salt. After i took the skin off i am fine with it.

Indoor and outdoor. It depend on how well you tolerate the weather. I like more outdoor and lay by pool area, deck 15 to relax and tan a bit. Indoor is the casino and restaurant. I am guy who hated buffet. I rather have them served me. I also did the win a cruise bingo. The only problem with them is where they set up the table.

Tips. When you are in your complementary restaurant , you can get a dish from across the hall. Icon and Silk with Chic and Grande. There a huge big kitchen back there that connect the two restaurant. Also i would book a specialty restaurant after you tried all four or if you want to avoid formal night in grande. Grande is the only one you need to be dress formal at all time.

Ifly tip separate your time if you plan to film or take picture. There is no camera allow inside the tunnel area even if you are sitting down waiting for your turn.

I just want to make sure I understand the tip,If im at Icon and I want something I know is on the Grande menu I can order it and get it at Icon?

Book Puzzle Break as soon as possible. It fills up quickly. Many people apparently don't show up for their reservations, though, so you can wait "standby". ;)

Have not been on the board much in the past year and this is the first I have heard of this. Thanks for mentioning it. Just looked it up and we are IN.

You can only order items from another restaurant if they are on the same deck.

Chic and Grand on 3 share a kitchen.

American Icon and Silk on 4 share a kitchen.

I did it for starters and desserts, but it has to be on the current menu. They have two different menus that they alternate.

You can also order cookies that aren't on the dessert menu, or something from the kids menu.
