travelgenie Posted January 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2016 It has been a few years since we have sailed with RCCL, and it seems like the Specialty dining options have changed since our last sailing. It seems like you can make reservations at Giovanni's only or buy a package deal of 3 or 5 nights. Can someone explain this, is there no longer a Chop's Grille? There does not seem to be much explanation on the website as to what restaurants are included when you purchase a package. What are the Specialty restaurants on the Adventure??We usually like to go to the Specialty restaurants maybe twice, so any clarification on how this works, would be appreciated, leaving in a few weeks! Clarea Posted January 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2016 Currently, Adventure only has Giovanni's. After the dry dock in November, she will have Chops and possibly Izumi.

I don't think Adventure has ever had a Chops - that'll likely be added in its refit. Aside from Giovanni's the only other specialty dining on Adventure is Johnny Rocket's and maybe Chef's Table. tserface Posted January 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2016 When we were on last there was only Giovanni's, but it was pretty amazing. We had a Filet steak and it was, perhaps, the best steak I've ever had on land or Sea. It was a very enjoyable meal all around. So, even though there may be no Chops, there is a great place to get a great steak. Of course, they have other selections as well. Tom
Zebby90210 Posted February 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Giovanni's a few weeks ago was quite impressive! If we didn't like our MDR tablemates so much we would have gone back again! Wonderful service, excellent Caesar Salad, Lamb Chops, Gnocchi with lamb/sage ragu sauce, crab ravioli with crab sauce and Tiramisu beyond belief. Portions are quite large and lot's of waste from neighbors but not us..we left 1/2 of 1 ravioli. Folks we met did the Chef's Table and were disappointed in the location, wine choices and amenities compared to other Royal Ships.
zuggie Posted February 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Currently, Adventure only has Giovanni's. After the dry dock in November, she will have Chops and possibly Izumi. We were on Adventure in January and ate at Giovanni's twice. Very good! I believe I read that when the ship emerges from dry dock it will also have a Sabors - the Mexican restaurant. It will be on the promenade where the Jesters nightclub is now, and the lower part of Jesters will be converted into inside cabins. We've been to Sabors on other Royal ships, and it's excellent. That's interesting that they would go with Sabor. On Explorer, the most recent ship identical to Adventure that has been revitalized, they put Chops up next to Windjammer (where Giovanni's is now) and put Giovanni's down where the nightclub used to be, and put Izumi up next to Viking Crown. Zebby90210 Posted February 5, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Sure hope they don't get rid of Jesters! It was the only hopping place to dance during the entire cruise. People loved the dance floor, DJ and music that was played!

People loved the dance floor, DJ and music that was played! They have gotten rid of every one that was on a ship that recently went into dry dock, so I would not expect it to last. Another case of too much non-revenue space.
rnlmigacz Posted February 6, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 6, 2016 I was looking for the same information about specialty restaurants on the AOS. Would consider a dinner package, as we have always enjoyed them, but not many options for the cost. Thank you all for the information that was lacking on the RCCL website.
JimAOk1945 Posted February 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 14, 2016 We have been on the Adventure of the Seas twice (two different itineraries) and enjoyed both cruises. We enjoyed Giovanni's as well. Great food and atmosphere. Give it a try
