Cruiser Bruiser Posted February 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2016 I left my booking up to chance. I decided if Single Outside (OO) cabins were still available that I would book, and they were. I got cabin 9 out of 12. That was somewhat surprising given that I got booking form 168. I figured that all the competition would be for suites and deluxe verandahs. I'm also excited that we're getting a full itinerary rather than an abbreviated one. With all the RSVP entertainment sure to be brought aboard, I only hope we get a glimpse of Koningsdam's new offerings. 50 weeks to go!
Boytjie Posted February 14, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2016 What do you mean by "an abbreviated" itinerary?
Cruiser Bruiser Posted February 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2016 What do you mean by "an abbreviated" itinerary? Four ports instead of one being substituted with a port day. All of my previous Caribbean sailings with RSVP had one fewer port than the comparable HAL itinerary.

patrick401ca Posted February 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We're planning on booking. We've done Atlantis a bunch of times but this will be our first RSVP. The Atlantis cruise on the Allure is just too many people for me.

bradpole Posted March 10, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 10, 2016 If anyone is interested Captain Albert, who has an interesting blog about being a captain with HAL, is currently onboard the Koningsdam posting pictures and describing the final preparations before Koningsdam departs for her inaugural cruise. http://www.hollandamericablog.com/albert/
Cruiser Bruiser Posted March 11, 2016 #23 Share Posted March 11, 2016 If anyone is interested Captain Albert, who has an interesting blog about being a captain with HAL, is currently onboard the Koningsdam posting pictures and describing the final preparations before Koningsdam departs for her inaugural cruise. http://www.hollandamericablog.com/albert/ Thanks for posting the link. I have an unnatural fascination with Koningsdam. I'm excited about sailing her with RSVP, but I really want to sail her on a regular HAL cruise so I can see all the new entertainment. I guess I will have to book a 10-night southern Caribbean in December 2018. Too many cruises, not enough time.

EagleRockers Posted March 16, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 16, 2016 Am I wrong in assuming that you have to be a past guest to sign up for this cruise? If so, does anyone know when it will open up to the general public? I'd really like to check out this ship and the itinerary is perfect! Thanks!
