danacline Posted February 14, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Definitely having a lot of vacation days makes this possible. I normally drive the route to Denver in 9 hours, but have always wished I had a few days to do the trip. Seems like every little podunk town in Kansas has a museum or something. abitaturbodog Posted February 14, 2016 #27 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Have you looked at the prices to rent a car one-way? It's is ridiculously expensive. We were planning to rent one-way from SC to OH. It was going to cost us an extra $350 "one-way" fee. Crazy!
elainmir Posted February 14, 2016 #28 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Well it's probably going to be cheaper to fly because Rental car companies will KILL you on that ONE WAY trip business...I was going to do that from home to Atlanta and it was 250 bucks for one way drop fee... yup someone has lost their mind..( and it's not me!!) wickedhangover Posted February 14, 2016 Author #29 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Wow, that's crazy with the rental car fee. It's been 20 years since I did a one way rental and I had not realized the fees they've added since. Thanks for pointing it out!
Tarahead Posted February 14, 2016 #30 Share Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) I am here in Litchfield CT and don't really like to fly either. Just sailed on the Pride in December. Not a bad 5 hour drive to Baltimore. Wondering how far I am willing to drive in order to try a different ship out of another port!
