different prices for same type rooms-why?

Recommended Posts

I am confused. I was checking out to see if the prices had dropped any. And am confused, I have a H category room, large oceanview stateroom, on deck 3 (Enchantment). There was listed another large oceanview stateroom, deck 3 that was listed as H and was $20 more. The sq. footage was the same (154). So, why the difference in prices?

And what is the difference between a large oceanview and a superior ocenview room, when they both say 154 sq.ft?

What is the difference between the F, G, H, I and such?

Can anyone clear this up for me, please?

Jly

Location, Location, location. The more mid-ship the better the value and the higher the better the value.

... Also, sometimes rooms will have a sofabed which ups the price. Other rooms will accomodate a third or fourth person...

Without having seen the deck plans, I'd wager that the location of the cabins justifies the difference in price.

Things that make a room more desirable (in general):

A higher deck; most people would choose deck 9 or 10 over deck 2.

A midship location (the exception: aft cabins, which are very popular).

Close proximity to elevators /stairs.

Things that make a room less desirable (again, speaking in general terms):

Obstructed views.

Deck 2 or 3 far aft (close to the machinery of the ship, these are noisy cabins).

Cabins immediately below a dance club or a pool (again, noise).
