stsbj Posted February 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We are travelling on the Escape March 12th sailing and are interested in visiting Virgin Gorda and the baths while in Tortola. We are looking to do this on our own, with the local ferry and transportation. I have done a lot of reading on the Tortola thread and it looks do-able with good planning, but am wondering if anyone who has sailed on Escape recently has done this, and just wondering how the timing worked out. We know it's tight timing wise as we're only in port from 7-3, but plan on catching the first ferry at 7:45. Any feedback would be appreciated. cmstl97 Posted February 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We booked it through NCL and in hindsight, there was really no reason to. Just use Speedys and you will be on the same ferries as the ship tours if you want some extra assurance you won't get left in case something unexpected happens. 12:30 is the latest ferry you could use to get back but that still allows more time than the ship tour. SuiteTraveler Posted February 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2016 On the morning of your ferry ride definitely take some Bonine at least 30 minutes before you go as the ride over is rough and many were terribly seasick.
