Hammock?

We do it all the time! Two of them in fact, IF the structure will support them. On allot of ships (including Silhouette) the outside rail doesn't have a good place to secure the ropes. I suppose if you wanted to go side to side you could, I don't recall what that structure was like on that class. On Constellation (AFT) it was glorious! Plenty of room!

I know I have a couple of pictures, but can't find them now.

It is SO relaxing to sit in the hammock with a glass of wine, a gentle rocking motion and a good book.

I looked into this too. You can get a cheap camping hammock for under 20 bucks and it doesn't take up much room. However, What do you tie it too?? I searched alot of Youtube videos on the balcony of the Silhouette and finally found one that showed the sides of the balcony (everyone takes video of the view and the sitting area but not the walls or they show the lower part of the wall). From what I saw, besides the railing (might leave marks) I didn't see any structure to tie the other end too. Its mostly a solid wall. Perhaps someone has had better luck on this. Good Post.

if you hang it you won't be able to do it on Silhouette (or her sister ships). We were able to hang both of ours nicely on Summit. We picked our hammocks up in Cozumel, in one of the shops right at the pier....we bring 'line' along and tie it up on the structure that divides the balconies then to the railing in the middle. We always make sure that the structure is sturdy (i would HOPE that the structure on a ship is sturdy!) and not in any way compromised. The AFT cabins work best because the balconies are deeper....not sure you could do this on a port or starboard balcony.
