Dunn's Falls and Rio Bueno Tubing Combo with all ages

We just returned from a Fantastic day in Jamaica off the Allure last week. With our age range- we had 2 adults, a 6 yr old and a 76 yr old, meant the Blue Hole was out. We decided to combine the Falls with River Rapids for the tubing and contacted Patrice Bailey who arranged Everything Perfectly. We were one of the first off the ship in Falmouth and went just past Margaritaville and out into the port parking lot. Right there you will see a Huge white canopy on your right- this is for independent excursions. She was there and we met our driver for the day, quickly on our way before we even saw any buses loading. The canopy and our vehicle were all still inside the secure area.

Its about an hour out to the Fall's, which we wanted to do first before the crowds arrive. Some ships had landed earlier but they were fairly done so we arrived during the perfect lull, paid our entry and went down to the entry point. You can chose to join a group here but we had climbed it some 28 years ago and wanted to just do it on our own- taking time where we wanted for extra play and photos. This was the perfect excursion for everyone in our group- we all did it... Had a Blast.

We had left our towels and everything in the car and just sat on the towels as we headed for the River Rapids excursion. We had chosen the tubing option, we also saw rafts and boards but with our age group- loved the tubing for the 4 miles down a beautiful river with plenty of little rapids to make it fun. Our guide Alex interacted with our 6 yr old grandson and he has NOT stopped talking about his day yet. And while he swims like he is part fish, I was glad to see they had life vests for even his small size (under 50 pounds). They took pictures in a few spots but there is no sales pressure Whatsoever and the prices are great- $15 per print, or $40 for all the pictures they took of your group on one CD. I cannot say enough for this company- Alex was such fun and kept us completely safe. We have done level 4 rapids, we knew these were just level 1 and Exactly the day I wanted given the ages in our group.

Patricia Bailey had taken care of all the arrangements, she was in touch with us during the day, we had thought we might have to wait for a group since there was only 4 of us, but Patricia had everything arranged and we were put in vests and helmets (after a quick use of their rest rooms)... we could have stopped for lunch or shopping but there was no pressure, the day was ours and our driver was great. It was our choice to get back to the ship by 5:30 so we were able to do both activities including travel time in 6 hrs. Giving us an extra hours cushion for the unexpected. Hope this helps others with their planning if you happen to be in Falmouth, last year we did the Martha Brae bamboo raft float and loved that as well, as our youngest was only 5 then. Cannot wait to go back- lots more excursions that look awesome. If you need to reach Patricia her contact is patbailey52 at yahoo dot com. This combo was not an option thru the cruise line so we were thrilled she arranged everything- just an awesome time in Jamaica!

Happy to help. In our case, the admission to Dunn's was $20 per adult and $12 ec for the 6 yr old and the senior. At River Rapids the tubing was $50 per adult and $25 for the boy. The later is about a 2 hour excursion and they provide you your own guide. We paid $180 for our mini van and driver with Patrice for our port time, there is no prepay- just at the port when you meet her... her contact is patbailey52 at yahoo dot com. We could have split this with someone else from our cruise ship but decided we just wanted to take the day at our own pace, but the van would have easily carried 7, we just never used the last row of seats as there was only the 4 of us. There was space behind all the seating for our bags. It was a really nice mini van and the driver was outstanding. Pat called us a couple times via the drivers cell phone to make sure all was exactly as we hoped, really going the extra distance to stay in contact with her guests. It was really nice coordinating with her as she told us in advance this was a good combo- that River Rapids is actually half way between Dunn's and Falmouth so we pass it without any great extra travel time. The pairing just wasn't one of the ships options. When we ended the tubing we were only half an hours drive from the ship.
