KBCruiseLover Posted February 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2016 My husband and I will be sailing into St. Maarten on Sept. 12th (2016) on Carnival Valor. We are interested in the following tour but since it is not being offer thru Carnival, we are very worried about timing. http://tours.sintmaartenvacation.com/book/details/74584/st-maarten-double-decker-island-tour-open-top/ Our port times are from 9a - 6p. We won't be able to do the early tour so the only other option is 12:30. The ship will go by Eastern time and the island is Atlantic time so we need to know if we can feel secure in doing this....as long as there are no unforeseen issues during the tour. It is scheduled to last about 3.5 hours. Since we are both in our early 60's we have no desire to be viewed as "runners" as the ship is leaving us. :D Thanks for any advice you can give. SnorkelAway Posted February 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2016 On March 13, 2016, Daylight Savings Time begins in most of USA, including along east coast. The island does not use Daylight Savings Time - so between March 13 and November 6 (when DST ends), your ship time (if on EDT - Eastern Daylight Time) will be the same as local time on island. You have plenty of time to take tour to which you refer - if you become a runner, it will not be because of taking that tour.
