Clarea Posted May 10, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Can you buy wine when you are onshore during cruise & take it onboard? Yes, but they will usually take the wine from you upon boarding and return it at the end of the cruise.

Lanzalady Posted May 14, 2016 #28 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Everyone is allowed one bottle of wine each. So, two if you are a couple. No, it's not one per person, it's 2 bottles of wine per cabin, regardless of the number of occupants.
MerlinsMum Posted June 17, 2016 #29 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Hopefully there'll be a couple of nice shops in Barcelona we can get a couple of bottles from. I presume we can bring our own water on board tho?

jayne3031 Posted August 13, 2016 #31 Share Posted August 13, 2016 That duty free store was still in the terminal last October. Good to know. I am on Brilliance on Thursday and was thinking about buying some on Barcelona before we boarded but that will be much easier. :)

Clarea Posted August 14, 2016 #33 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Does anyone know what kind of adaptor plug we'll need for the ship? European or american? There are both Euro and US receptacles, so either will work.
the wandering two Posted August 14, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Good to know. I am on Brilliance on Thursday and was thinking about buying some on Barcelona before we boarded but that will be much easier. :) If you are staying in Barcelona pre cruise or happen to be walking down Ramblas for the port bus, wine is a lot cheaper in Carrefour. Port security will still let you through, that's not their concern. Royal will usually be scanning hand baggage on boarding, in case anyone is trying to smuggle more than their quota. regards Mark & Heather

flightycow43 Posted August 20, 2016 #38 Share Posted August 20, 2016 i sailed on Brilliance out of Barcelona on 25th July - we had booked 2 staterooms and we bought 4 bottles of wine in the duty free at the port after security and put them in our hand luggage. How we regretted not buying more!! - No one checked at all. Could have carried on whatever we could fit in luggage.

I think I'd rather stick to the rules and not get left behind at the port. Lol
