Key West after 3 pm

Sunset celebration is not to be missed. Festivities begin around 2 hours prior to sunset and end about an hour or more (depending on the crowds) after sunset.

If you don't want to hand around for the festivities, there are a number of museums that may still be open. There is a walking Ghost Tour around 8pm. You can find a thread here in the Key West board.

Depends on if you have kids with you or not. If not, after the sunset celebration, I would hit the bars on Duval Street -- places like Sloppy Joe's, Capt.Tony's, Kevin's Irish Pub, The Bull, etc. Each place has it's own distinctive atmosphere, and there were NO cover charges when we were there last month. That makes it easy to pop in and out of lots of different places so you can sample them all.

If you are planning to eat dinner off the ship, there is a great Mexican restaurant, Salsa Loca, on Duval just before you get to Truman.

Definitely enjoy the sunset celebration on Mallory Square, then head over to the La Concha hotel and take the Ghost Tour. You learn SO MUCH about the history and local color of Key West from the tour!! If you don't want to fight the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at Mallory Square, skip the sunset celebration, go to the top of the La Concha hotel *before* sunset (costs $5, but you get a free drink ticket for the bar at the top), enjoy a beautiful panoramic view from the tallest building (besides the lighthouse) in Old Town, then head back downstairs for the Ghost Tour. If you're looking for a nice place to eat, try Bagatelle or Blue Heaven. If you want something more loud and party-like, hit Sloppy Joes for dinner and some drinks.
