Sunshine - Deck 6 or 8 - Fist Time Cruiser :)

I am getting ready to book my first cruise on Sunshine. We are looking to be mid-ship with balcony. It looks like Deck 6 is above the casino & deck 8 is below the pool area? So my first thought is that the casino would be louder & to choose deck 8, but i thought it would be good to ask here. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated! :)

Deck 7 is a better choice- only rooms above and below use. We were about five rooms in front of the aft elevators, very quiet and close to the stairs and elevators.

Sadly, 7 was not an option when I tried to book it. I only get 6 or 8. Otherwise, I agree, I would have grabbed 7. :)

I personally prefer Deck 6 mid, anywhere above the fun shops. It's very quiet at night and you have easy access to the atrium and promenade. The Casino is more known to be smoky and not so much for being loud (unless someone is winning big with a crowd around them)

I was on the Sunshine in January. If you are a non-smoker then go for deck 8. The middle set of stair opens to the casino. We would go up a floor to avoid the smoke smell. By mid week we went up two floors because deck six was starting to smell a lot!
