Dixie24 Posted February 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I know some people have had this offer before, but I just got it for the first time today so wanted to let everyone know. I already have my cruise paid off, but will use this offer to prepay for Cheers online. I'd assume that would qualify. "Details Get a one-time $75 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $250+ in one or more transactions on a Carnival Cruise booking by 4/15/2016. See terms for exclusions. Terms Offer is valid on qualifying bookings made online or via phone through Carnival or your Travel Professional. Spend on board not included. Excludes transfers/transportation to the ship. Please note that hotels, car rental companies, cruise lines do not accept prepaid cards for charges authorized in advance, although prepaid cards may be used to settle the final bill. Check to make sure prepaid cards are accepted before attempting to use your prepaid card to take advantage of offers for these merchants. Excludes gift card purchases. Enrollment limited. Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem. Only US-issued American Express® Cards are eligible for this offer. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 4/15/2016, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer."

fuddrules Posted February 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Thanks, Just added it and will likely use it to pre-pay gratuities on 1 room. It will be a savings of around 21%.
LaCal Posted February 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I have a cruise booked and fully paid already on March 19th.....Can I book all my excursions today using my Amex and get the savings or is it only for brand new bookings?? Thx
Kcruiser2014 Posted February 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Thanks Just added it to mine. I am thinking of booking some excursions online for my April cruise. Hopefully, that will work. Does not seem to be an exclusion. If I change my mind after boarding, I can always get it refunded as OBC and use it how I want. (Hello...Casino!) cherbear4000 Posted February 29, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 29, 2016 That's for the info. I will have to check my AmEx account to see if I qualify for this offer.
RiotAct Posted February 29, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) This is only for booking a fare, or would it also work if I used the Amex to purchase Cheers! for an already-booked cruise? (January 2017 sail date) EDIT: pretty much what the OP was asking too!!! lol Edited February 29, 2016 by RiotAct
Kanyon71 Posted February 29, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I have it on my account also. Just added it to the card, it does say Spend Onboard Not Included. So I wonder if it's only for booking a cruise itself. Which isn't a big deal we are looking for another one right now and any savings is a good thing to me. :)
Delta Dear Posted February 29, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Thank you so much for this tip. I've never even looked at those special offers. The Carnival offer was not at the top so I had to load more to see it. I had an offer on my card account and my husband had an offer on his card account. Love being able to receive credit on each account. Thanks again.
peekinglemer Posted February 29, 2016 #15 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Thank you thank you. This is the second time someone on this board alerted me to these offers. Still paying off my November Vista cruise so I have saved $150.00 so far. It is appreciated.

cmptrwiz Posted February 29, 2016 #17 Share Posted February 29, 2016 This is better then the last credit card offer. It was use your MasterCard credit card to pay your shipboard account and they posted a $50 on board credit to your S & S account. It was hard to monitor on your on board account before you got on board.
Boats Aint Just 4F ishing Posted February 29, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Well just finished chatting with AMEX. The rep i chatted with with says its only for bookings so sounds like a no go for prepaying for anything for a cruise already booked. Please post if your mileage varies :) Edited February 29, 2016 by Boats Aint Just 4F ishing

The rep i chatted with with says its only for bookings so sounds like a no go for prepaying for anything for a cruise already booked. Please post if you mileage varies :) We booked a couple of weeks ago with just a deposit. So I made the payment to our outstanding balance. It looks like it worked, because I received an email from AMEX saying thanks. I guess I will just have to wait and see. As far as buying excursions I'm not sure that would work. Maybe prepaying tips, but I'm not sure.
