To Save or not to save -OVG on Fantasy

Carnival has Ocean View Guarantee's on the Fantasy for $90 a person less than what I am currently booked. There are two of us.

 

I am torn, do I risk it? I see these posts all the time, but I guess my question is, has anyone done this on the Fantasy and been stuck with a bad cabin.

 

In all reality, IS there such a thing as a bad cabin when you are on a ship and not sitting at your desk at work? I literally just sleep in the cabin, and sleep through most things.

 

I do fear having an obstructed view, which would defeat the purpose of an ocean view.

 

Please give me advice.

If all you use the room for is to sleep, wouldn't a view (obstructed or not) be irrelevant?

 

Stay where you are unless $180 is worth the gamble of having an obstructed view while you sleep.

Decide if you can tolerate the worst cabin in the category. If so, it'll be fine. I wouldn't want a cabin on Empress Deck 7. Too great a possibility being under the galley or other noisy areas.

Point taken. I guess my thought is just to have the sun coming in in the morning.

 

Honestly, I only got an ocean view (I normally just do inside) because I am taking my son and thought he might like it.

I just wouldn't want a far forward cabin---long walk to Lido. But for the price I'd do it.

If you are doing it for your son, your son is probably of a young age and would enjoy whatever you get. especially if it has a window or balcony.
