irishgal1970 Posted March 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Just a caution to anyone who booked on board recently: check your TA's contract over very carefully. There are three issues with mine, not the least of which is the price! We booked onboard the Reflection on 5 Feb (30 Jan sailing) and were told that our deposit would be fully refundable because we deferred the $150 OBC to our future cruise (you were able to apply it to the current cruise, but if you did, the deposit became non-refundable). Well our contract says "As disucssed onboard this deposit is 100% non-refundable." Anyway, I've emailed the TA with copies of the booking notes (re the price) and the name of the person who told us that our deposit would be refundable. I will reply back with a status once I've sorted this out. Just a heads up to check your waiver/contract carefully before signing.
Clarea Posted March 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Is this a cruise line document (the contract) or a travel agent document?
irishgal1970 Posted March 2, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 2, 2016 It's a document from the TA. They call it a "waiver". I've sent them copies of the documents that I was provided on board by Celebrity. I'm not signing the waiver unless they address my three issues to my satisfaction. irishgal1970 Posted March 2, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Well, so far I have heard back about the deposit being refundable, and they confirmed with Celebrity that it is refundable. It sounds like the price issue may be a semantics issue. I'm waiting to hear back on what they show as my current balance.

LuvCruzn4Evr Posted March 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2016 We had this same issue and we told our TA that we deferred the onboard credit for booking onboard. They revised their 'contract' after confirming with Celebrity. I guess most apply the onboard credit to the current cruise.
ISABELLA Posted March 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2016 That is why I always pay deposit for future cruise, so there is no issues later. Make it simple. Dealing with X and TA sometimes is confusing enough.

Wine-O Posted March 2, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Get yourself another travel agent. The customer service from those mass market travel agencies sucks.
irishgal1970 Posted March 2, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted March 2, 2016 The TA has been VERY responsive. They resolved the first issue within 15 minutes, and clarified the costs to my satisfaction. I'm still concerned about one other item, but it won't be a deal breaker.
