Private taxi tour instead of 20p bus?

We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 girls)

Is it possible to hire a taxi for 3 to 4 hours for a private tour (incl. a beach stop) at an agreed rate instead of going with the buses that accomodate 20 persons?

How much would that be? Any ideas/experiences anyone? As we would have to pay 100 USD for the bus, we would prefer a private cab if the surcharge is reasonable.

 

I assume the taxi drivers would be comparably knowledgeable about the island as the bus drivers?

I just find it a bit annoying when people seem to post questions without having browsed the board a bit before asking the same questions all over again within a limited time frame ... I did not intend to join that crowd... :o
