jcastro1202 Posted March 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2016 Hi everyone! Me, my husband and our 4 children will be sailing on the Getaway in September. We've sailed Carnival, Royal, Holland, MSC and Celebrity in the past however this will be our first NCL cruise. We are currently booked split 3 boys and 3 girls in connecting family interior cabins and I want to plan ahead for the gratuities. Can anyone tell me what the gratuity charge is per day per person? Thanks!
Rare KeithJenner Posted March 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2016 It's $13.50 per person per day for over 3s
jcastro1202 Posted March 5, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 5, 2016 This may sound like a dumb question, but when you say "over 3's" are you referring to anyone over 3 years old? Just want to confirm if it is because I will be traveling with a 1 year old. Thanks! It's $13.50 per person per day for over 3s

Leavethekidswithmom Posted March 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2016 No DSC for the 1yr old so in your case it will be $13.50 X 5 X days.
hawkeyetlse Posted March 5, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) Actually the rule is "3 or older" (makes no difference to most of us, but a crucial detail for some families). Your 1 year old will definitely be exempt. Edited March 5, 2016 by hawkeyetlse
Rare cml4958 Posted March 5, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) I want to plan ahead for the gratuities. Can anyone tell me what the gratuity charge is per day per person? Thanks! I believe you'e already been given the pricing but you can also pre-pay the gratuities (also called daily service charge or DSC) if you like and get that out of the way. Coastalbreezes Posted March 5, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2016 If you log into "My NCL", you can pull up your cruise's vacation summary, scroll down and there is a tab where you can pre-pay your service charges. You can also pre-book/pre-pay any dinner reservations and excursions. Tracy
