Why the February 10-20 Amerisuites b/o?

Just curious...why is Amerisuites' valuetrips rate blacked out from February 10 to February 20? WHat's going on during that time, does anyone know? Does this mean I need to bite the bullet and pay big bucks for a hotel room and give up on Valuetrips or Priceline? Thanks for your help!

Just a guess, but I know that in our state those dates include the school's mid winter break and perhaps they do not intend on running any specials during that part of high season.

President's day weekend is in the middle of that blackout period, and many hotels have been sold out for months around that time... It's also the beginning of the College Spring Break period, and Winter Break for many K-12 schools. With the extremely popular King Tut exhibit in Fort Lauderdale this Winter/Spring, and increased tourism in general, prices and occupancies are way up over past years.

I live in Mass and my gf is a teacher and she has winterbreak from feb 18th-26th
