CinAndTheCity Posted March 12, 2016 Author #51 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Hi Cin, Thanks for keeping us updated during your trip! I hope you and Chair have a great trip. What are your impressions on the mini-suite? Is the balcony any different? Also, are the craft beers included in the unlimited beverage package? More photos, Adam I think the balcony is about the same size, the bathroom is bigger though! Craft beers are almost all included, only bottles that are more than $15 aren't, but you can still get them and just pay the difference over $15. Good deal! Keep us posted w/ the beers you guys try. Also, curious how it goes w/o any advanced dining reservations.
cruisinforfun9 Posted March 12, 2016 #53 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Hi - 2 weeks and we get on! Looking forward to your live review. I'm curious if you will have success with the GoPro on the ropes course. I'd love to use it but was reading that maybe they won't let you! Have the best time of your life! Island-lover Posted March 13, 2016 #65 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks for posting! Can you take a picture of the different excursions NCL is offering. Just wondering if it is different than on the website. I wanted to book the Rebel Yell in Tortola, but it doesn't show up when I log in to myNCL. Maybe it is booked up or just not offering it. CinAndTheCity Posted March 13, 2016 Author #72 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thank you for doing a live review! Just curious what your overall impression was with La Cucina? Would you recommend it as a dining choice based on your experience? We liked La Cucina. I had the lobster dish with spicy sauce and Chair had steak' date=' we thought they were both good. Not a great picture, but this was the steak. [img']http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160313/0708c0303b9f3874d6aef87ee94f93d5.jpg[/img] Time for some water slides now! CinAndTheCity Posted March 13, 2016 Author #73 Share Posted March 13, 2016 We lost at tri-bond trivia with 17 correct. The winners got all 20. Here's the beautiful chandelier in the middle of the ship. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
ScotianGold Posted March 13, 2016 #74 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks for the words of encouragement so far! I'm thinking the live posting is also a good idea because I always intend to write reviews of the cruises I take and then I get lazy and end up not doing it. This will make me feel somewhat accountable. Here are some more possibly interesting tidbits about us and our plans for this cruise: We have not made reservations for anything yet! We were going to make some dinner reservations but our friends never committed to whether they wanted to eat in any of the specialty restaurants with us (they don't have the SDP), and then all of the pre-cruise reservations were pretty much full. I know this would scare a lot of people, but it only worries me a little. You can follow along as we learn if this ends up being a huge mistake or not. We love trivia. And by "we" I especially mean Chair. We made a spreadsheet schedule that lists most of the events we are interested in (based on copies of Freestyle Dailies from previous sailings) and a lot of them are trivia. We found 4 or more trivia events available on many days. We are actually not that good at trivia by ourselves so hopefully we can find some people to team up with. I like the casino. Craps is my game of choice lately along with some blackjack and a few bucks here and there tossed away in some slots. I am normally a night-owl, but since I started hanging out with Chair I tend to adhere to a more normal sleep schedule. I do love to sleep though. One of my goals is to make it to as many morning trivias as possible, and to have breakfast at one of the main dining rooms at least once. We are not that big into hanging out at the pool and laying in the sun, although we love water slides, shuffleboard, and other outside-deck activities. Therefore you will probably not catch me complaining too much about the supposed lack of deck chairs by the pool. Speaking of outdoor activities, I wussed out on the ropes course when we were on the Breakaway. I got my harness on, clipped into the course, and got through the first 2 or 3 obstacles before I got scared and had to turn back. :( I plan to do better this time. And we will use our GoPro to take video up there if they let us. I will post more tidbits as I think of them. What app do you use to rate your beer? CinAndTheCity Posted March 13, 2016 Author #75 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Chair just ordered an old fashioned and ended up with this, we're not sure what it is but it's too sweet for him so it's mine now. Also one of the ladies we were playing trivia with did this to our answer sheet, haha. Waiting for Jeopardy in the atrium next.
