NurseDave Posted March 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Cruising the Riviera in a few weeks and wondering how the weather has been for those down there. There's a post about a beach being washed away and we're getting hammered with rain in the bay area.

Real life experience and how it effected the ship is obviously different than numbers.
Ine Posted March 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) The weater incl.,last Monday was much warmer then other years incl. the nights. Tuesday afternoon it started to rain a bit, later that evening and night we got a lot of rain and much wind, I would say a storm. That and the extreme high waves the last few days is the reason why the beach in front of Sea monkey is gone, just stones instead. Other parts of the beaches (Los Muertes, the beach near the Venetian etc.) have some minor or no damage, which you will hardly notice. From Wednesday afternoon the sun was out again, no more rain. Temperatures are great, not that hot and all the dust at the plants and in the air is gone. It is wonderful now, nights are still chilly but once the sun comes out it is nice and warm, not hot. NurseDave Posted March 11, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 11, 2016 I just called my doc to order the patch. Haven't needed it the last couple of cruises, but sounds like there may be chances for bigger seas.
Rosefloater Posted March 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Always interesting to see the usefulness of posts from people with thousands of posts. Real life experience and how it effected the ship is obviously different than numbers. The weather now and in a few weeks will be different. Where I live, if the op asked the same question, a few weeks ago it was in the 90's and today it is in the 60's and raining. So looking at a weather forecast website is a good idea to see the weather closer to the cruise.
bonzijam Posted March 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2016 As this goes with weather and the seas-are there still whales to be seen in the area?
Ine Posted March 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2016 As this goes with weather and the seas-are there still whales to be seen in the area? Unfortunately in Puerto Vallarta we had just a few whales. Most tours have stopped now because of that. The water has been too warm for them, they stayed more out in the ocean. Maybe you have more luck in Cabo.
