Can the SBP be used in the MDR to order wine, soda or even a mixed drink?

Yes. You can order any qualifying beverage in the MDR.

 

I'd get my mixed drinks BEFORE dinner and take them with me. It'll be faster that way. You can order wine and soda from your waiter.

For a glass of wine its often much quicker to pick one up on the way into the MDR.

I second this. If I don't already have a bottle waiting in the MDR we always stop at the Ocean Bar for pre-drinks anyway, so I carry my wine in with me.
