boykin Posted October 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2005 TrentS, We are a family of 9 traveling to Miami for a cruise during March (Spring Break) we need 3 rooms or 2 rooms in a suite hotel ie Homewood etc. All of the hotels near the port are $300+. I have read several posts on Homewood suites/airport but it seems that there are no restaurants nearby. Do you have any suggestions as to parts of Miami we can look into. I'm very familiar with Fort Lauderdale but clueless in Miami, we have children with us so safety and food are priority. Thanks!!!
TrentS Posted October 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Spring Break time is tough, and prices are going to be on the high side. There are no all-suite hotels downtown, just suites within the regular hotels. The Homewood Suites at the airport is in an office park surrounded by lakes. It's a long walk out to any restaurants. You might try this Hampton Inn & Suites "MIA Airport South", it's a nice newer hotel in the same general area, but on the "outside" with much easier access to food and shopping... http://www.hamptoninnmiamiairport.com/ There's a nice restaurant about 3 blocks north of it called "94th Aero Squadron" that the kids might like - I loved it as a kid anyway. It's overlooking the airport runways and they have headphones on the tables so you can listen to air traffic control.
