lamchops Posted March 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Arriving in port on Sunday and it appears rental car location in terminal is closed. Anyone have experience with other rent car company in port? I have rented a pre-booked car from Europecar in town on a Sunday. It was a $7eu cab ride to the outlet. The outlet opened for a couple of hours to service cruise ship passengers. We had to return the car to a nearby hotel. They charged an extra $40eu fee for opening on Sunday. I think the cost for cabs, rental, gas, & tolls came to about $175eu but that was the only way for us to visit Bayeux, Juno Beach, Cdn cemetary, and the Pegasus bridge. For the 2 of us it was still cheaper than an excursion. it would be a bargain for 4 people.
A Sixth? Posted April 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2016 I too am interested in a car rental to visit Juno as most of the tours seem to be skewed towards other beaches. How long a drive is it from the Euro car place to Juno and the Canadian beaches?

How long a drive is it from the Euro car place to Juno and the Canadian beaches? I think the driving time was about 90 minutes as we went to see the Bayeaux Tapestry first. Follow the speed limit as I had a speeding ticket waiting for me when I got home. Juno Beach center is a museum hosted by Canadian volunteers which explains Canada's D-Day involvement. We also stopped at Beny-sur-mer Canadian war cemetery as well as Pegasus Bridge before heading back to the ship. It was a very educational and emotional day.
