Tour Operators in Sochi, Russia

We are going on the Chairman's Cruise on July 2nd from Athens to Istanbul and are wondering if anyone has information on tour operators in Sochi, Russia. I contacted Red October in St. Petersburg and they had no recommendations. Any info will be appreciated.

We were on the Black Sea Cruise this past summer and I had difficulty finding any private tours in Sochi. We used the ship's tour since we needed a visa to get off the ship and didn't want to spend $100 per person for a visa. We took the tour that went to view Stalin's Dacha. The ship has private vans to tour Sochi. You can contact Oceania and find out how many people a van holds. Our friends were very happy with their tour -- they used it for one half day. This was the only tour we used with the ship's excursions. We were able to get private guides in most of the other ports.

 

Good luck in your search. You could probably go to frommers.com or Fodors.com and search for "Sochi". They have boards also and maybe someone has the name of a guide there.
