annimal Posted October 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2005 We are on the Xmas sailing of the Coral Princess to the Panama Canal. We sorting out our excursions and were wondering if anyone has some insight on Costa Rica excursions. We have contacted Charlie Soto who offered his #1 tour which includes the Tortuguero canals, a visit to the animal resue center to pet animals, banana plantation tour, hilltop view of Caribbean Sea, trip to Bonita Beach and a stop at a local market. We are interested in the canal trip but aren't really interested in the animal rescue center or zip lining and are on the fence about the plantation. Are there other sights to see in Costa Rica or things to do that are within reachable distance during our time there? Is the banana and/or coffee plantation worth the visit? I can't seem to find anything other than the above listed things and river rafting. Any info would be great.
GloriaF Posted October 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2005 The Coral is a great ship! I haven't been to the PC yet, so can't answer your questions. If you read and post on this Review thread you can probably get quite a few answers. Have a wonderful trip! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=242196
mii Posted October 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2005 We did the partial transit on the PC and what we did was a ship excursion that toured the Tortuguero Canal which by the way was one of the best excursions we have ever taken. It also included a stop at a banana plantation. I think the tour is called Tortuguero Canal Eco- adventure or something like that. Anyway, as I mentioned it was a great trip. You will enjoy the Coral. She is a great ship. Have a great cruise. Marilyn
