Last year we parked in this area. Right next to the Ryndam ..$15/day ..not cheap but it was very easy to get on and off the ship specially when traveling with a toddler.

You can almost literally throw a rock from parking lot to ship and hit it, or vice versa, from ship to parking lot and hit your car! It's very close and very convenient! Parked there twice now and will again. You prepay when you enter so there's no line leaving (except at the stop light.)

I've been to Tampa and used Norwegian, but I haven't used HAL. The garage seems too far to walk.

We're doing our first cruise from Tampa and looking for hotel suggestions offering shuttle or taxi service to the cruise port.

Hampton Inn Ybor City. Cruise terminal is within their hotel shuttle transport radius, and the hotel is in easy walking distance of various restaurants. Depending on your room you may be able to see your ship from the hotel when you wake up on embarkation day.

They also offer a park-and-cruise package if you were driving to Tampa. We did that and it was nice; after disembarking we called the hotel shuttle and they picked us up within minutes.

Convenience depends on where ship is parked. On our first cruise on the Ryndam out of Tampa, we could have thrown a penny from our veranda down on the parking area. Second cruise, ship was parked a distance away. Not sure how you get to and from a ship parked in that area.

  • 1 year later...
We used Parking doctors lot, 7 days was $67, service quick. I think their web site is called Parkologists, we prepaid over internet, not problem...

We have used Parking Doctors also. Very pleased with service. We prepaid when we made our reservation and they were very efficient when we arrived and we just called on our return and we had fast pick up.

We stayed at Quality Inn & Suites - Tampa Fairgrounds. 4955 East 18th Ave.

They have free parking in a well lit and fenced parking lot that is free for up to 14 days, with free shuttle to AND from the cruise port. Very clean hotel and great driver. Very happy with their service.
