Adding people to a room?

Is it possible to add a person to our room after final payment has been made? She would be a third person.

absolutely! As long as you have beds and the ship isn't "full". Final payment doesn't stop you from adding folks. It's just when you are assured of your berth!

If you have booked a 3 or 4 room it would be no problem. If not they will have to move you to a 3/4 room and sometimes that is impossible. Even if the 3rd person shares the same bed with you there is the firecode rules they must follow. They also or as I found out will charge you full rack rate for adding after final payment. It's the old "gotcha" trick.

In other words that 3rd person cost almost exactly the same as we paid for 2 when we booked earlybird a year before. And they were only 2 years old.

If the ship has reached it's lifeboat limit, a number imposed by the Coast Guard, it doesn't matter if you have a huge Penthouse cabin or a quad. Once that number is reached, they will not allow you to add another person even if you haven't made the final payment.

HAL did exactly the same to us last year for our 9 year old foster daughter. They charged full fair for adding a 3rd person to our cabin. We needed to wait for court approval for her to leave the country :( and it was not until after final payment was made. She is now officially our daughter, so this year she is discounted :D & worth every penney!
