tammyp5 Posted October 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2005 Just booked the five day January 3 cruise on Westerdam. Wondering if anyone knows what kind of a schedule this one has - any formal nights or special events? First time cruisers looking forward to our first adventure. We booked an SC suite - 5186, I believe, with a large aft balcony. Any tips for us on what to pack? What is the usual Bahamas weather in January? Esme Posted October 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2005 You probably will have 1 formal night - maybe the rest Casual. This will be listed in your docs. With the way the weather changes all the time, can't say what it will be like in the Bahamas - warm-hot, probably.
lgt Posted October 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2005 Took this cruise last year. Lots of fun. First day was HMC; 2nd day Nassau; 3rd day at sea (formal night) 4th day Key West; 5th day Fort Lauderdale. We took 15 kids, grandkids along (first time for majority) and everyone had a grand time. Make sure you go to your assigned dinner the last night (or eat early at the Lido). Everyone was tired and didn't want to dress (except shorts) and couldn't make up their minds. We ended up at the Lido at 8:15 and most everything was closed, except pizza. I would go again but not with the whole group at once.
tammyp5 Posted October 19, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Thanks for the info. We're looking forward to it. I hope the weather is good. SOunds like people have really enjoyed this same cabin on the Zuiderdam - I hope the Westerdam one is as nice. Wow - 15 grandkids - that doesn't sound like a vacation, that sounds like a class trip! You should get a free cruise for that one. Pardon my first timer questions. Does anyone remember if the Westerdam has a card room outside of the casino? How hard is it to get Pinnacle reservations if you're in a suite?
