Quince Posted April 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I know the classes are often dependent on the staff onboard for that sailing. We sail in early May. I'm interested in Pilates and Body conditioning classes with the fitness staff, and hopefully Zumba with the activity staff. Thanks
Quince Posted April 23, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted April 23, 2016 Can anyone who's sailed recently help with this? Trying to decide if it's worth taking my "real" athletic shoes vs the lightweight Skechers shoes.
jinxypoo Posted April 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2016 On the Allure last week. They had TRX, spinning, yoga (all extra $) however they cancelled everything except spinning on the last 2 sea days, supposedly not enough people signed up  I signed up for yoga and got up early for no reason..I was not happy! It was supposed to be on the helipad which would have been really cool. The spinning classes always had full sign up sheets with a waiting list so I think they still had them. They also had "vitality stretch" and "fab abs" for no charge in the morning and an evening stretch class at 6 PM. They also had "flybarre body toning" and "pilates gravity resistance training" on the schedule they gave out but there were never sign up sheets for those classes so I'm not sure if they actually existed. No Zumba, there might have been some kind of Latin dance class, but I don't think it would be much of a workout.
ColoradoGurl Posted April 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2016 You can still bring your shoes and use them even if classes are cancelled. You can go for a run or do some walking lunges and squats, do some cardio on machines. I've never been on this ship, but I took my running shoes on my last cruise and used them i think 6 days out of 7. Might have even used them all 7, but I feel like I skipped a run. If you take your exercise routine seriously, take the shoes :)
stormynow Posted April 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2016 Does anyone really go on a cruise to exercise?
Clarea Posted April 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2016 Does anyone really go on a cruise to exercise? No, but some like to exercise on a cruise.:)
ColoradoGurl Posted April 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2016 Does anyone really go on a cruise to exercise? 😂😂 haha... I do 😁. I don't take the cruise to work out, but I definitely work out on the cruise. It's only a half hour to an hour out of my day, and I can eat at the buffet as many times as I want and come home having gained zero pounds and lose no progress in my work out routine. It's a win-win-win for me all around.
