copperj Posted May 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2004 This is our first Princess cruise. We have been on RCCL and Carnival and it seems they all have different towel policies for the pool. Do you pick up your towels in the pool area and return them, or does your steward leave a beach towel size in your room and you "tote" it around with you? FredS Posted May 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2004 We were on the Diamond and pool towels were in our room when we checked in. I did not see any by the pools.
sue d. miller Posted May 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Welcome to Princess. We each got a pool towel in our cabin. They are striped. Cabin towels are solid. When you take it to the pool, return it to the cabin. If you need another one, the cabin steward will take the dirty or wet one, and give you another one. Try not to lose it. You will be charged. coiran Posted May 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2004 There is an abundance of pool towels draped over the lounge chairs after 7 AM - they apparently are yours for the taking - chair goes with it LOL NCL PRIDE OF AMERICA Oct. 2004 SUN PRINCESS 2004 Caribbean REGAL PRINCESS 2003 Europe GOLDEN PRINCESS 2002 Canada New England SUN PRINCESS 2002 Panama Canal SUN PRINCESS 2002 Mexico DAWN PRINCESS 2001 Caribbean DAWN PRINCESS 2001 Caribbean SEA PRINCESS 2001 Alaska REGAL PRINCESS 2000 Mexico REGAL PRINCESS 1999 Panama Canal PACIFIC PRINCESS 1999 Europe SUN PRINCESS 1998 Caribbean ROYAL PRINCESS 1996 Panama Canal
ManhattanCruiser Posted May 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Even though coiran's point may be controversial, it's true. People do take towels lying around the pool... maybe to "free-up" a chaise lounge, maybe to replace a towel that they have 'lost' or had removed from THEIR lounge by a "free-upper". I've never heard of anyone REALLY being charged for the pool towel.
LarryF Posted May 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2004 On the Grand 3 years ago we left our towels several times by the pool and got new ones from our steward. We were never charged for those towels nor were we ever made aware that there would be a charge. on Caribbean Princess June 5, 2004 Larry
Sunny AZ Girl Posted May 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 6, 2004 I know this question has been asked before, but with the search not working I just can't find the answer. Does the ship provide beach towels for shore excursions or do you need to bring your own? Thank you in advance to all you patient CC people for your kind indulgence to us Princess first-timers! bjboothman Posted May 6, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2004 You just take your blue and white striped pool towel to the beach (they are beach-towel size). On some of my cruises the Patter has printed a reminder to cruisers to please remember to bring them back onboard if you have taken them ashore. sue d. miller Posted May 7, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Larry, either the gods were looking down on you that week, or maybe they stopped charging.!! Sue 7 days on Star Princess 10/
demisod Posted May 7, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 7, 2004 When we got back from our cruise a couple of weeks ago we discovered that one of our slovenly children had mistakenly packed pool towels in the suitcase when he picked up a pile of clothes laying on the floor. No charges so far, but maybe they charge if they catch it before the shipboard account is updated on the last night.
